Anchor Health Centers (AHC) is pleased to announce the introduction of its new secure email service. This new service allows our patients, physicians and medical staff to send and receive confidential information via an e-mail system that is designed to ensure both privacy and security. It does so through advanced encryption technology.
AHC’s new secure e-mail service is provided in response to standards contained in two important pieces of legislation enacted by Congress: 1) the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and, 2) the more recent Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act.
For many AHC patients, email is becoming a preferred method of communication with our physicians, other healthcare providers and staff. With the introduction of our new secure email service, we hope to make it easier for email communication to take place in a way that fits your active lifestyle. This is just another way that Anchor Health Centers remains dedicated to providing our patients with the best medical care and services that we can offer.
AHC has partnered with ZixCorp to create an environment where email messages can be sent in a very secure way. New users of this technology will go through a few simple steps to register with our encryption service and thereafter they will be able to send emails to AHC and receive secure responses back from AHC.
