The NCH Healthcare Group Laboratory plays an active and key role in assisting Healthcare Group physicians and clinical providers. Diagnostic testing is essential to the basic management of patient care, allowing physicians to detect disease earlier, make diagnoses, prescribe therapies and monitor results. Our goal is to provide high quality medical laboratory services. The satellite laboratories and phlebotomy services located in NCH Healthcare Group’s larger medical buildings supplement the main full service laboratory at the Commons Building on Goodlette Road.
The highly skilled and experienced laboratory staff provides, in most cases, less than 24-hour turnaround time for laboratory results. When necessary, the laboratory staff are able to provide “STAT’ test results, and results with critical or special importance are communicated directly to the physicians. This one-on-one contact with NCH Healthcare Group clinical staff enables the laboratory to run additional tests on previously drawn samples.

How the Laboratory Works
NCH Healthcare Group takes pride in the fact that with the aid of high speed and state-of-the-art equipment, more than a million tests are performed each year, and the results are available for the physicians to review in the electronic medical record via an online laboratory information system. The online high-tech computer system provides the clinician with immediate access to laboratory test results.
For your convenience, NCH Healthcare Group has three draw sites where specimens are collected. Our couriers transport these samples to our central laboratory for analysis. We place the needs of each individual patient first, with an emphasis on courtesy, compassion and professional expertise. The Healthcare Group continually strives for accuracy of testing, responsiveness to our patients' needs and prompt service.
Our Laboratory is licensed by the State of Florida Department of Health, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CLIA) and accredited by COLA.
